Applications fully submitted by June 30, 2024 will already be evaluated during July.
Important note for visa-seeking students: Please read about the visa process carefully before applying. You are responsible for organizing your legal stay in Czechia and the visa application process can get quite lengthy. We cannot guarantee that you will be able to obtain the visa in time because the June and August deadlines are fairly close to the start of the academic year on September 30, 2024. The extended deadlines are therefore strongly recommended to students who already possess the legal right to long-term stay in Czechia.

Alessandro Testa's book ranked in the Competition of high-quality monographs at Charles University
The book Rituality and Social (Dis)Order. The Historical Anthropology of Popular Carnival in Europe ranked 8-9. place in the Competition of high-quality monographs at Charles University. Its author is doc. Alessandro Testa, anthropologist and historian working at the Institute of Sociological Studies FSV UK. -
Valentyn Shkriba, a FSV UK student, received the Rector’s Extraordinary Prize
Valentyn Shkriba, a student of the Security Studies Master's program, received the Charles University Rector's Extraordinary Prize for 2022. He was awarded for his help in the agenda of accepting Ukrainian students to study at FSV UK. -
Alice Němcová Tejkalová received an award for the Contribution to Parasport
Alice Němcová Tejkalová received an award for the Contribution to Parasport from the Czech Paralympic Committee. He has been covering Paralympic sport in media for 21 years. -
Golden Courses for Winter Semester 2022/2023
Golden Courses for the best courses of the Winter Semester 2022/2023 according to the student evaluation were awarded yesterday. Congratulations to all recipients! On Tuesday, 11 April 2023, during the Academic Senate FSV UK meeting, the Golden Courses were awarded to the lecturers. -
Dr. Aliaksei Kazharski received a prestigious award
During the International Studies Association (ISA) conference, Dr. Aliaksei Kazharski from the Department of International Relations, Institute of Political Studies FSV UK, received a prestigious Global International Relations Section Book Award for his new book Central Europe Thirty Years After the Fall of Communism: A Return to the Margin. -
Academics from IES FSV UK received the Bedřich Hrozný Prize
The Bedřich Hrozný Prize for Creative Initiative is awarded by the rector of the Charles University for a significant and original creative initiative. Doc. PhDr. Michal Bauer, Ph.D. and doc. PhDr. Julie Chytilová, Ph.D. from the Institute of Economic studies received this prize for a publication in the Nature journal.
