LERU Summer School for PhD students

Applications are open for the 15th edition of the prestigious LERU Summer School (The League of European Research Universities), which will take place on 6–11 September 2026 at KU Leuven (Catholic University of Leuven).

Theme of the summer school: “Inter-, Multi- and Transdisciplinary Perspectives on Health”.

This summer school is designed to provide doctoral candidates with exceptional professional and personal development opportunities that go beyond standard PhD training. Participants will experience an international, interdisciplinary, and intercultural meeting of young talents, offering them long-term valuable insights for their future careers.

The selected PhD candidate from Charles University will not be required to pay the participation fee of €600. Travel costs will be covered by the Rectorate of Charles University (RUK) through reimbursement to the faculty.

Conditions of participation:
The selected participant commits to actively disseminating the knowledge and experience gained after returning from the summer school and to cooperating with the Charles University PR team, for example by giving an interview.

Application requirements
Applications must be submitted via the online form and must include the following documents, all in English:

  • First name and surname
  • E-mail
  • Gender
  • Affiliation (university, faculty, department)
  • Title of PhD project
  • Motivation letter
  • Structured CV

Deadline for applications: 12 January 2026.
The Rector’s Board will then select one participant to represent Charles University at the summer school.
