Three new English-taught study programs at FSV UK

The Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University is expanding its international portfolio with the launch of three new English-taught degree programs starting in the academic year 2026/27. The new programs — MA in Transnational History (TNH), MA in Game Studies (GAME), and BA in Sustainability in Marketing and Media Communication (SUMAC) — highlight the faculty’s growing commitment to global education, interdisciplinarity, and innovation.

Transnational History is launched by the Institute of International Studies FSV UK. Game Studies and Sustainability in Marketing and Media Communication are introduced by the Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism FSV UK.

“Through these new programs we are offering students a chance to join an international academic community in the heart of Europe, studying topics that are both academically rigorous and socially relevant,” says Malvína Krausz Hladká, Vice-Dean for Student Affairs at FSV UK. “We believe that equipping students with the analytical, communicative and intercultural skills needed in today’s world is central to our mission.”

The new programs complement the faculty’s broad English-taught portfolio — currently comprising 21 Master’s and 5 Bachelor’s programs — and respond to key global trends: interconnected histories, the expanding game and interactive media sector, and the growing importance of sustainability in marketing and communication.
