On April 11, from 7:00 p.m., there will be a screening of the documentary film Kuciak: The Killing of a Journalist at Hollar in room no. 215 (with English subtitles). The award-winning documentary deals in detail not only with the murder of Ján Kuciak and Martina Kušnírová, but also with the consequences of this dramatic event, which caused the biggest protests in Slovakia since the fall of communism.

The FSV UK Language Centre invites faculty students and interested employees to several movie Tuesdays with our American lecturer Daniel Baxter Jackson. The sessions will take place at Hollar, Room 110 on 14 March, 28 March, 11 April and 25 April, from 5 to 7 pm.

Professor Ivan Krastev, the chairman of the Centre of Liberal Strategies in Sofia, will present a lecture titled International Order as a Hall of Broken Mirrors: Development Prospects in the World Shattered by War. The lecture will take place on March 7 from 5 p.m. in the Hall of Patriots, Carolinum.

The Institute of International Studies launches their new research centre entitled Ukraine in a Changing Europe, which will be led by Dr. Valeria Korablyova, a member of the Department of Russian and East European Studies. Public events dedicated to the launch will take place on Monday, 20 February at Pekařská 16 and in Scout Institute, Staroměstské náměstí 1/4.
